you finally met a person that explains why murder is illegal? I mean it shouldn’t have to be said. It should be implied. But then there are people that are just so stupid….you become that one guy who is the reason lawnmowers have warning labels on them saying do not use to cut hair.
You become that one guy that just has to do the obvious?
*sighs*
Saw this today and I was APPALLED!
These things are NOTHING alike.
1. No one has PTSD over a food allergy, no matter the severity. (And if they do I am sorry but you are the .000001% and Me rounding up is a fair thing, okay? ). So many people have PTSD from 9/11. It might be uncouth to joke about what he is saying but to joke about 9/11 in such a way to someone who was there is not only blasphemous but it is moronic on the lowest forms of intelligence.
2. Comparing people making jokes about death of one person to deaths of THOUSANDS. THAT IS LITERALLY MULTIPLE ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE. AKA not comparable. So don’t try.
3. You are talking about a food being the enemy not people literally willing to kill themselves to eliminate anyone who doesn’t believe in their religion.
People not in NY, more so people in their 20’s and teens who like to THINK they know, need to stop speaking like they went through that traumatic experience. Yes you may have know about it and what the buildings were but they didn’t MEAN anything to you. They weren’t symbolic. All it was was two big buildings that had lots of people in it that fell.
Every time I’d drive to my grandparents house I remember my parents would point out to me the twin towers as we drove across the Hudson River. And then suddenly there was a great big gaping hole as a reminder every time I saw the New York skyline from that bridge. It mirrored the hole in my heart.
Moral of the story: This isn’t a joke. It isn’t a game. And it is in NO WAY something to take lightly. Word of advice if you didn’t have any personal attachment to the place or a LOT of people in that building (not just a cousin’s fiancé or something) than please just don’t say anything. Ever.
RANT COMPLETED
on another note thank you tumblr for being the outlet I need and can’t have on any other social media. It really is a place where people can rage or fan girl and not feel judged and know they will find someone who understands them.
Thank you to those who read this post. It means so much to me. I hope you all have a wonderful day. *hugs to everyone*
Update: he responded saying “can’t the same be said about the other? I am fully qualified to say what that feels like”
And that apparently makes him qualified to know what a 9/11 survivor feels like. Good to know.
